Jennifer Lopez is reportedly being paid $2 million to sing at a birthday party being thrown by a Russian tycoon for his wife. Andrei Melnichenko – worth close to $5 billion – is paying JLo $1.2 million plus $800,000 for expenses for 40 minutes of singing.

“Andrei and Aleksandra are both very great fans of J. Lo, so Andrei put the call in and personally put the offer to [Lopez,]” a source told London’s Daily Mail. “She accepted immediately. She will sing for about 40 minutes – not bad money for the work.”

$2 million for 40 minutes comes out to $50,000 per minute. For that kind of money she better be doing the whole thing naked. Or flying around in a rocket pack. If she just stands up there and sings I think Andrei Melnichenko is required by law to let a tiger loose on her.

I’m not a fashion expert or anything, but having functioning eyes makes me more qualified to dress somebody than Mischa Barton. She looks like she had an old woman put together a superhero outfit from clothes she found in the garbage. She and Jessica Simpson should get together and start a “women who dress like they’re 100-years-old” club. And at every meeting they could like, I dunno, tuck their boobs into their pants or something.

If you haven’t already heard it, this is the message Alec Baldwin left on his 11-year-old daughter’s voice mail. I don’t get what everybody’s making such a big deal over. This sounds like a pretty normal father daughter conversation. Although I am surprised he lets her out of the cage long enough to use a phone.

UPDATE: In the shocker of all shockers, Alec Baldwin has apologized for the message on his official site. Although it’s less of an apology and more of an self-justification. He writes:

“Thank you to everyone who has posted messages of suppport and understanding. Naturally, it is not best for a parent to lose their temper with their child. Everyone who knows me privately knows that I have endured a great deal over the last several years in my custody litigation.

Everyone who knows me privately knows that certain people will go to any lengths to embarass me and to disrupt my relationship with my daughter. In such public cases, your opponents attempt to take a picture of you on your worst day and insist that this is who you are as a person.

Outside the doors of divorce court, I have friends, I have respect from people I work with and I have a normal relationship with my daughter. All of that is threatened whenever one enters a court room.

Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child.

I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. ( Although I hope you never do.)

I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case. Once my book is published, I’m sure more people will understand the incredible strains created by parental alienation.

In the meantime, I’m sorry to anyone who’s taken offense from this episode.”

Looks like Paris Hilton has already split with Josh Henderson. She and James Blunt hooked up Wednesday night and were spotted making out at club Teddy’s. A source says:

“They were all over each other. They both ended up back at Paris’ house.”

I always wondered how James Blunt managed to score with Petra Nemcova, and apparently it was all part of an elaborate hoax set up by God. I can already picture God sitting in his office dreaming up his plan: “I’ll make him a famous musician. Then I’ll give him millions of dollars. Then I’ll give him Petra Nemcova. And then *cracking up* and then I’ll put him together with Paris Hilton *laughing hysterically* and when his penis falls off I’ll jump out from behind the clouds and scream ‘Punk’d!’”

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have been going around for quite some time now but the curvy singer doesn’t know if she is ready for marriage. Also Beyonce is too busy with her work. “They are still very much an item and in love, but there will be no summer wedding – or any wedding this year for that matter. Jay wants to settle down, but Beyoncé is not about to step off the gas as far as her career is concerned. She told Jay he is going to have to wait a while before she is ready to walk down the aisle”, says a close friend. And who wouldn’t wait for such a beauty and talent!

Looks like Spanish Albums are coming in vogue these days. JLo made her maiden Spanish album and got carried away emotionally with the results. And it appears that JLo fever has grabbed Beyonce Knowles right now.

Beyonce has got hooked with a few Spanish songs that she re-recorded for the Deluxe Edition of her hit album B’Day. The album hits the shelves this week. She says, “I did grow up in Houston, Texas, so I was around Spanish; I took it at school but I completely forgot it.” So who is next in the Spanish language album trend?

Beyonce finally won a legal battle against a former business ally Greg Walker of Icon Entertainment. Walker had accused Knowles of cutting him out of a deal of $1.5 million fashion deal that was settled between him and Knowles in 2003. Apparently the court found out that there was no written contract. So Beyonce Knowles had the last laugh.
