Red Carpet

Pretty in Pink

Yes, the sorbet shade reminds us of Pepto Bismol and the sheer bodice is overly complicated, but the fact remains that: 1. Kristen Stewart is wearing pastel and 2. She’s smiling! Seeing K-Stew so out of character on the red carpet premiere of her new movie The Runaways makes me wonder: Is our favorite sulky starlet turning sunny?

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough?

Red carpet gaffes, public breakups, failed film releases . . . The climb to celebrity is nothing if not torturous. Which may be why Jessica Biel has been favoring a different kind of climb recently. She just scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, and is contemplating Everest next. Good luck, Jess, but remember: in Hollywood and on the mountaintop, the higher the climb, the farther the fall . . .

America the Beautiful?

Glowing skin, killer curves . . . And a disco-ball dress? As always, America’s Ferrera’s features are flawless, but on the red carpet at the premiere of Our Family Wedding she was almost upstaged by her glittery gown.  What do you think—America the beautiful, or Ugly Betty?

Go Wilde or Stay Home

If Olivia Wilde makes an Oscar appearance this year, the fashion gods will be watching. The beaded silver Gucci gown she rocked on Golden Globe night will be nearly impossible to top—and, frankly, Hollywood’s fashion-impaired are probably wishing TV’s sexiest doc would stay home.

Fergaliciousness

Stacy Ferguson looked foxy, foxy in this periwinkle, chiffon Elie Saab gown at the Golden Globes, and I’m hoping she can spice up the Oscars in something even more Glamorous.  My Fergie Ferg wish for Oscar night is this: May she look like a ten when her co-star, Penelope Cruz, wins for Nine.

One to Watch

Fresh from her Golden Globe win in this chic Atelier Versace gown, Drew Barrymore may be glowing brighter than Oscar himself on Sunday night. Whether she’s a DO or an OH, NO, SHE DIDN’T, Drew already has what she hoped for this year. So what’s left to wish for?

Have fun, Drew. I’ll be watching.

Red Carpet Gold

At the Golden Globes this year, True Blood’s Anna Paquin was Anna Sequin in this stunning gold Stella McCartney gown. Confession: If I owned this dress and the vintage Stephen Russell jewelry that goes with it, I’d make an Oscar night appearance myself.

Is Bullock Best?

Sandra Bullock went from The Blind Side to my good side when she appeared in this purple, chiffon Bottega Veneta gown at the Golden Globes. This Sunday night she could nab a gold man for Best Actress, but can she do the impossible and also win Best Dressed? My wish for Sandra B. is to win big in something red!
