Will You See a 3-D Beauty and the Beast in Theaters?

Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip on November 20th, 2008 |  No Comments »

Disney has made it clear that its future is so bright, we're gonna have to wear (3-D) shades. From Robert Zemeckis's version of A Christmas Carol to Pixar's Up (which looks so cute!), Disney is all about the 3-D experience for the next two years. This includes the re-release in theaters of a few oldies but goodies, including Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Producer Don Hahn says, "By going back to the original animation files, which have been carefully archived for 17 years, and using the separate background, effects and character animation elements, we're able to come up with a fun and unique 3-D experience for existing and new fans of the film."

What do you think of this idea? Are you just excited to see Beauty and the Beast on the big screen again, or would you go mostly for the 3-D aspect? Or does this not interest you in the least?

Whee! Check Out a New Flight of the Conchords Promo

Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip on November 20th, 2008 |  No Comments »

Via the Watcher comes the most delightful 40 seconds of my day: a new promo for Flight of the Conchords. The HBO comedy, with New Zealanders Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement singing goofy song parodies and trying to make it big in New York, begins its second season Jan. 18.

The show's second season may be its last, so I for one am planning to soak in every minute of ridiculous comedy this Winter. This promo is short, but it's also pretty representative of the Conchords dynamic: Jemaine wants to make a serious promo for the show; Bret wants to be a gangster. To check it out, just

Private Practice Rundown: Episode 7, “Serving Two Masters”

Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip on November 20th, 2008 |  No Comments »

On this week's Private Practice, Addison dives in headfirst to her trust issues stemming from her marriage with Derek. Just as the good doctor is settling into a fun and easygoing relationship with her cute SWAT guy, he goes and says something that brings everything to an awkward halt. And while Naomi thinks Addison's hang-ups are clear as day to anyone with eyes, it takes a sweet elderly couple to reveal to her and Sam how to move on from the shambles of their marriage. There's all kinds of psychodrama going around once again, so let's not waste time — just

New Full-Length Trailer For Coraline!

Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip on November 20th, 2008 |  No Comments »

Neil Gaiman's story Coraline is coming to the big screen courtesy of The Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick and now we've got a deliciously whimsical, cute, surreal trailer for the February release. Dakota Fanning voices Coraline, a little girl who discovers an alternate version of her life — a way better and more interesting version. But when "Other Mother" (voiced by Teri Hatcher) tries to keep her forever, "Coraline must rely on her resourcefulness, determination and bravery to get back home."

I just love this style of filmmaking, and I think Selick has a real talent for bringing these other-worldly tales to life. To check out the trailer for Coraline,

Pushing Daisies Rundown: Episode 6, “Oh, Oh, Oh…It’s Magic”

Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip on November 20th, 2008 |  No Comments »

A few weeks back, it was the circus that got a melancholy treatment on Pushing Daisies, and this week, it's magic. No cute bunny rabbits and white handkerchiefs here — just a whopping dose of death, daddy issues, and the dastardly Dwight Dixon. Ready to chat about it? Just

More Nicholas Sparks Movies? Really?

Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip on November 20th, 2008 |  No Comments »

We all know that author Nicholas Sparks wrote The Notebook, which became a movie starring the sweet duo Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Before The Notebook Sparks's novel Message in a Bottle became a movie. Later came A Walk to Remember starring Mandy Moore, and this year his book Nights in Rodanthe arrived on the big screen towing Richard Gere and Diane Lane in its wake.

Now there are not one, but two more Sparks-induced movies in the works: Dear John and the recently announced adaptation of The Lucky One.

Sparks's writing is rather recognizable now for its combination of desperate romance and heartbreaking tragedy. Do you like these movies? Do you think they'll work if they have a good combination of actors (like Ryan and Rachel)? Or should we just stop with the Nicholas Sparks already?

America’s Next Top Model Finale Quiz: “America’s Next Top Model Is…”

Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip on November 20th, 2008 |  No Comments »

Oh boy oh boy — another America's Next Top Model finale has come and gone, and once again we have a winner who's sufficient, in my opinion. No matter which way you slice it, the top three this year were all nice girls who came with unique strengths.

And I'm just going to say it: Tyra's hair during the first panel looked like a dead poodle. It was not good. But I digress. The night wasn't too heart-stoppingly dramatic, but a pleasant time was had by all. You can see the rest of the pictures from last night's finale and tell me if you agree with the winner, but first take the last (sob!) Cycle 11 quiz!
