It Girls of the Week: Drama Queens!
Feb 10th
Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip
In honor of Gossip Girl author Cecily von Ziegesar’s series It Girl, each week we celebrate the women who are making headlines. This week, we look at the ladies who are in the spotlight for their acting roles! Check them out below:
- Katharine McPhee – Who doesn’t love a good musical? This former American Idol contestant stars in the new series Smash which follows two Broadway hopefuls as they compete to snag a part as Marilyn Monroe. The show, which premiered on Monday, received good ratings and reviews, and Katharine is getting a lot of praise for her role. Also, doesn’t she just look smashing lately? (Sorry, just had to do it!)
- Naomi Watts – The 43-year-old actress has just received an “honor” — as she’s calling it. She has been cast to play the part of the late Princess Diana in an upcoming movie about the royal’s last two years called Caught in Flight. Naomi told Variety: “Princess Diana was loved across the world, and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen.” We think the blonde beauty will play the role well.
- Rachel McAdams – Just in time for Valentine’s Day (to fulfill our need for an awesomely romantic movie with a side of Channing Tatum), Rachel is starring in The Vow. Grab the tissues (per usual) and either a girlfriend or guy who is willing to do anything for you and head to the movies this weekend!

It Girls of the Week: The Ladies of the Super Bowl!
Feb 3rd
Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip
In honor of Gossip Girl author Cecily von Ziegesar’s series It Girl, each week we celebrate the women who are making headlines. This week, we look at the ladies who will make the Super Bowl interesting! Check them out below:
- Madonna – The 53-year-old legendary singer (who looks damn good for her age) said it’s a “dream come true” for her to be singing at the Super Bowl half-time show this year. She said she’s feeling a little nervous performing in front of such a huge live television audience (the biggest one she’s done was likely LiveAid in 1985). We’re excited to see her perform three of her oldies but goodies (please, please, please “Vogue!”) and her new song “Give Me All Your Luvin’.”
- Kelly Clarkson – Another voice we’re excited to hear at the Super Bowl is Kelly Clarkson who will be singing the national anthem. The American Idol star has performed at other NFL games before and sang the anthem at a Dallas Cowboys game, but this will be her first time performing at the big one!
- Gisele Bundchen – One half of one of the world’s most beautiful couples, Gisele will be rooting for her husband Tom Brady. And she’s already been asking friends and family to send positive energy to him. In an email, she said, “This Sunday will be a really important day in my husband’s life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this super bowl. …”

Will Chuck and Blair Ever Be Together?
Feb 3rd
Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip
We heard the begging and pleading and yelling during the 100th episode live tweet chat. We joined in your cries and your “Save Chuck and Blair” chants. We even took it up with Gossip Girl‘s executive producer Joshua Safran and asked him if the writers ever take into consideration what the fans are saying they hope happen.
“We’re so far ahead, so even if it would influence our decision, it couldn’t,” he said. The writers are almost done with episode 24 right now so everything for the next 11 episodes has already been determined. “But, what I will say is that it’s great to have fans who are so passionate and who feel so strongly about it. We feel it with them.”
As for Chuck and Blair and their future, Joshua said it’s up to the characters’ stages in their lives and emotional development.
“The thing with Chuck and Blair has always been that one is always two steps ahead of the other and just when one catches up the other falls behind,” Joshua said. “It’s their constant thing that they come up against. They’ve never really been in the right place at the right time with each other. And we understand that might drive the fans crazy, but that’s what we have set up from the very beginning, and it is always going to be Chuck and Blair’s hurdle.”
Do you think Blair and Chuck are finally ready to be together? Vote in the poll below!

In honor of Gossip Girl author Cecily von Ziegesar’s series It Girl, each week we celebrate the women who are making headlines. This week, we look at the ladies who snagged a coveted Oscar nomination! Check them out below:
- Rooney Mara – Nominated for Best Actress for her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, her character is a troubled young woman who is hired as a research assistant by a journalist investigating a decades-old mystery. Just as intense as the movie was = how intense of an actress Rooney turned out to be. And it showed enough to get the attention of the Academy.
- Michelle Williams – When someone asks you to play Marylin Monroe in a movie, you say, “When do I start?!” Michelle Williams got the honor of portraying the legendary actress in My Week With Marilyn, scoring her the nod. She also just picked up a Golden Globe award for the same role!
- Melissa McCarthy – Her movie Bridesmaids made us fall in love with puppies, Wilson Phillips and laughing all over again! Melissa is being nominated in the best supporting actress category for her role as the crude sister of the groom.

Will Serena and Dan Get Back Together?
Jan 24th
Posted by Synidcated in All Gossip
With Chuck and Blair on the outs, the stage is set for the rebirth of another Gossip Girl classic couple, but will Dan and Serena be the ones back on the relationship roller coaster? The original “it†couple of the series, Dan and Serena seem like they’re headed for another attempt at happily ever after with a New Years Eve kiss in last week’s episode. Sure, it all may have been a ploy to protect B’s new affair with God, but S’s lingering looks on her step-brother definitely weren’t part of the scheme.
As if their sibling status wasn’t complicated enough, nobody can forget that Dan recently confessed his love for Blair. True, she may be heading down the aisle with Louis, but that hasn’t stopped Queen B from cozying up to Lonely Boy in recent episodes. They say that crisis brings people together, but on the Upper East Side crisis only seems to bring together another crisis.
Could this be a new beginning for Serena and Dan or will (Not-So) Lonely Boy be the catalyst of a long overdue catfight between the Upper East Side’s “It†girls? Vote in the poll below and tell us if you want Dan and Serena back together or if he belongs with Blair!

In honor of Gossip Girl author Cecily von Ziegesar’s series It Girl, each week we celebrate the women who are making headlines. This week, family matters! Check out the ladies who are making news!
- Beyoncé – Back in the day, Jay-Z put a ring on it and Ms. Knowles said yes! Then the two decided to build their fam. Enter, Baby Blue! Blue Ivy arrived this week and we couldn’t be more happy for the three of them. Can’t wait to see the fabulous way B is going to raise her precious new addition!
- Khloe Kardashian – When rumors broke out that Khloe was not fathered by Robert Kardashian, the dad of the other Kardashian clan members, she didn’t pout or succumb to the gossip. While she’s already taken a DNA test in 2009 to make sure she wasn’t adopted, she’s decided not to take another one to see if her DNA matches that of her sisters. Here’s a thought: being a Kardashian isn’t just about the genes… it’s about how much you rock in those jeans
- Sienna Miller – The latest celeb rumored to be pregnant is Sienna, who is reportedly having her first baby with bf Tom Sturridge. The gorgeous S will make a beautiful mom-to-be, and we bet her baby will be just as pretty!
This week’s “It Girls†receive the “Lucky†honor for being so lucky to have an amazing family! Check out more info on The It Girl book Lucky here!
