Gossip Girl “The Fugitives” Producers’ Preview

In last week’s Gossip Girl episode “Raiders of the Lost Art,” we were left picking our jaw up off the floor when Chuck walked in on his dad Bart Bass (who was supposed to be dead) at a sex party Diana was hosting.
After a week of WTFs and OMFGs, we are finally ready to see why Bart is still alive. The Producer’s Preview has been released and executive producer Joshua Safran and team give us the scoop on what to expect:
“This episode is almost like a two-parter,” Joshua said. “Last week’s story was truly ‘What is behind that door?’ and that was revealed. Everybody comes together as a team as they did last week, except for Dan who has gotten a second shot at the summer program in Rome.”
And will the gang figure out the deal with Diana? “Nate and Lola are very intent upon making the public aware of Diana’s past,” Joshua said. “But Diana is not too keen on that happening. So that whole Nate, Diana, Lola triangle really explodes.”
Jake Coburn, co-producer, said we’ll see a fun twist on the history of Serena and Blair‘s friendship. “We wanted to do this story for a couple of years now,” he said. “We tried to do it in the middle of Season 3, and we got our shot this time.”

- Jessica Simpson – Guess who’s finally a mommy! That’s right, Jessica Simpson finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Maxwell Drew, on Tuesday morning. Already loving parenthood, Jessica wrote on behalf of the couple that “this has been the greatest experience of our lives!!” With Mothers’ Day on the horizon, this first time mom is ready to celebrate with her new daughter!
- Giuliana Rancic – Sure, Giuliana Rancic may not be sporting a baby bump, but she and her husband Bill announced that they are expecting their very first child later this year! The couple is using a surrogate to carry the baby, although the identity of the woman is being kept a secret. Nonetheless, Giuliana could not be more excited about the prospect of becoming a new mother and can be seen getting pretty emotional over the baby’s first ultrasound on the May 1 episode of Giuliana & Bill.
- Drew Barrymore – She may not be announcing it yet, but 37-year-old Drew Barrymore is definitely sporting a baby bump. The actress was spotted this week in a loose fitting sweater with fiance Will Kopelman. According to a source, the couple recently celebrated a joint wedding and baby shower!

In next week’s new episode “The Fugitives,” B finds out that Dan gave up his chance to go to Rome for the summer because he was worried about Blair being in the city with Chuck. In this sneak peek clip, see Blair’s reaction as she complains to Serena about the situation.

Who better to recap each week’s new episode of Gossip Girl than author Cecily von Ziegesar? Find out all her favorite moments in “Raiders of the Lost Art” (Season 5, Episode 22).
Hey People,
I have to say I spent much of last night’s episode demanding — in between slurps of Campari, — “Wait, wait, what did she just say? Where is he going? What’s happening? What’s happening?” I’ve never been good with mysteries. I’m too impatient and I don’t like to be misled. And boy, last night’s episode was jam-packed with red herrings and casually tossed out lines. Maybe I should watch it again. So many subtleties, so little time….
Here are some of my favorite moments (as I remember them):
Best Dress: Serena looked pretty and young and footloose and fancy-free (for a change) in that short black dress with the white flowers all over it. Trés adorable.
Best scheming duo: Chuck and Blair, doing what they do best, without tripping over any of their emotional baggage.
Best Masseur: Dorota oiling and pummeling Diana for information was genius.
Best liar: Nate. His expression never changes, even when he’s lying through his perfect eyebrows.
Prettiest face: There was something tea-cup delicate about Chuck’s face last night—the fact that his entire identity hung in the balance was written all over it. He just needs someone to hold his hand and tell him that he’s loved. We love you Chuck.
Biggest surprise: I won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t had a chance to watch yet, but sometimes the best surprises come in ugly packages and are given to us by total Bassholes.
Lingering question: Why oh why is Serena so so so hung up on finding out who Gossip Girl is? Does she want to take her out? Become allies? Torture her? I’d much rather Gossip Girl remain a mystery. Wouldn’t you?

On Monday night’s episode of Gossip Girl, “Salon of the Dead“, Dan and Blair hosted a salon to come out in public as a couple. Blair wore a black embellished Marc by Marc Jacobs Rock The Boat dress while Serena crashed the party in a Temperley London Wanda Beaded dress. Diana also showed up to the party uninvited in an Alexander McQueen Cowl Neck dress.

The curvy Demi sported a bikini while relaxing in the South American sand, sending a message that you don’t have to be stick thin to look great in a two-piece!
- Jennifer Love Hewitt – Sure, Jennifer Love Hewitt is getting a lot of buzz for her recently tweeted picture of her au natural and absolutely stunning face, but on Wednesday night J-Love was getting attention for a different part of her natural body. While on Jimmy Kimmel Live the actress was shown a close-up of her own breasts from the billboard to promote her show, The Client List. Upon seeing the image, Jeniffer Love said that her breasts “look like King Kong’s.”
- Taylor Schilling – Taylor Schilling stars as Beth, a single mother who falls in love with a sexy young soldier, in Nicholas Sparks’ latest movie adaptation, The Lucky One, which premieres tonight. Not only is Taylor in a major motion picture, but she also gets to cozy up to co-star Zac Efron and that makes her pretty lucky indeed!
