On last week’s riveting Gossip Girl episode, Dan Humphrey learned a thing or two about being the center of attention — sometimes, being an “It” guy has its share of unsavory repercussions. (Then again, what are a few consequences when you’ve written a highly-acclaimed novel that’s the talk of the Upper East Side?) Either way, episode 5.04 was drama central – full of juicy gossip, unforgettable fashion and, naturally, the hottest beats.

Tune in for this week’s Gossip Girl playlist based on music from “Memoirs of an Invisible Dan”:

Quite Nice People” by Ida Maria: Plays near the beginning of the episode.

“Ghost In Your Bed” by My Gold Mask: Plays while Dan tries on a suit.

Don’t Wait” by The Duke Spirit: Plays during a scene from Dan’s acclaimed book starring him and Blair.

“Embrace” by Chase & Status: Plays towards the end when Dan chooses his book over his friends.

On episode 5.02 of Gossip Girl Blair was treated to a bellyful of surprises. From unpleasant morning sickness to Prince Louis’ “royal pain in the arse” sister (Beatrice) stirring up trouble, let’s just say B wasn’t exactly having the time of her life. Still, the Upper East Side fashion (as always) was more scrumptious than any royal dessert bar and the music was just as good!

Gossip Girl episodes are chock full of hot tracks but let’s face it — any Gossip Girl episode that features a Jenny Packham fashion show, a baby daddy dilemma and a crying Chuck Bass is bound to be top-notch. Taylor Swift’s Super Bass

What do you get when you mix Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and one of my eagle-eyed little spies? Why, the hottest concert video of the summer, dear readers. Check out Tay’s turn as a rapper on stage with Miz Pink Friday herself and tell me if you think T.Swizzle will be swapping her cowboy boots for a blinged-out grill…XOXO.

K.Stew’s Music Video Debut

Sorry, R.Patz, looks like you’re not the only Breaking Dawn babe sliding into the music industry. But our erstwhile Bella (aka Kristen Stewart) won’t be belting out tunes a la Robert anytime soon. Instead the soon-to-be Snow White makes a cameo in Marcus Foster’s new vid for “I Was Broken.” Kristen looks her usual porcelain self, but the video is a little low on excitement. Check out the dreary ditty below and tell me if I’m the only one who thinks this song needs to be sold with a Zoloft prescription…

Scene & Heard: Ed Westwick on Flirting with Kings of Leon

I definitely go and see as many bands as I can. I had a flirtation with the Kings of Leon last year, so that was fun … but that’s over now,” Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick tells The Block mag in a recent interview about his upcoming movies, music taste, and life in NYC.

What’s this about flirting with the Followill brothers? Nothing too saucy. “Flirtation” is just fancy British slang for “checked out their music.” We are so smitten with Chuck Bass’s smoky rasp of a voice and native New Yorker charm that we forget that the bloke playing Manhattan’s Dark Knight is actually more Notting Hill than Upper East Side.

Language barrier confusion aside—how good does Ed Westwick look on his latest magazine cover?
