Gossip Girl Music Playlist: Songs from "I am Number Nine"

Last week’s Gossip Girl episode, “I am Number Nine,” featured Dan dealing with disappearing off the New York Times bestsellers list, Serena trying to preserve the dignity of Dan’s movie, Charlie (Ivy) digging her claws into Nate Archibald in order to impress Blair, and Diana throwing a controversial party for the NY Spectactor. However, the most memorable moment of the night goes to Chuck for visiting Blair at the end of the night to apologize to her for all the ways he’s wronged her. (Was anyone else fanning themselves at this point?) Overall, Gossip Girl 5.06 was drama central – full of juicy gossip, unforgettable fashion and, naturally, the hottest songs around.

When we visited Saks Fifth Avenue for the FURLA Exclusive Handbag Collection Launch, we were on a mission: To get event host Kelly Rutherford to spill serious Gossip Girl goss. It was only after Kelly floated off into the night on a sea of camera flashes that we allowed ourselves to admire the oh-so-luxe collection. Gorgeous — click through for images of these fab handbags. We also snagged Furla’s creative director Fabio Fusi for a little chat about the hottest fall handbag trends, celebrities who wear Furla, and the best style advice he’s ever heard.
Fabio Fusi: I like very much, the simplicity, the purity, the clean message from the bags, which I think are very much in line with the spirit of the people at the moment. Fabio Fusi: I don’t think there is a special one. When I think about the handbags, I imagine a woman who works every day. In general, all those women who work and have a family and also want to be fashionable. Fabio Fusi: I think that our bags are most of all, comfortable, beautiful, made with durable materials and I think with a great craft. They’re all made in Italy and we design them with a lot of passion. I think that this passion and love that we use to design the product come to the eye of the customer. Fabio Fusi: Less is more.

Gossip Girl starlet Blake Lively brought a heat wave to the Teen Choice Awards last night with her sizzling leather Gucci dress, animal-inspired Christian Louboutin pumps, and chic silver accessories. But she went home with the best accessory of the night — a surfboard for Choice TV Actress: Drama. Good thing Lively’s character Serena is spending some time on the left coast so she’ll have an opportunity to ride some waves. What do you think of Blake’s look? Is orange leather going to be the next big trend or should pumpkins be the only ones wearing this hue?
