Sure, they wear designer clothes and have minions holding umbrellas over them so they don’t get rained on, but celebs — and Upper East Siders — are not that different from the rest of the world.
We spotted Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Kelly Rutherford doing everyday things, caught on camera! Of course, they still look ridiculously glamorous, but isn’t it nice to know that they’re just like you?

Dear Penn Badgley,
We are begging you to cut your hair. Not only are your fans wondering what’s going on with the long, curly mess that you’re currently sporting, but jokes about your locks have even made it into the Gossip Girl script, including an awesome jab from Blair (“Seriously, you should cut it already…”).
We know your character Dan Humphrey is trying to be a respected author now that his book Inside is doing well, and that a Brooklyn hipster isn’t one to be spotted with a clean-cut hairstyle, but we promise you’ll have better luck with the ladies (and in life!) if you take our advice and fix that hair!

Penn could dye his hair black and grow it long with wispy layers for a rocking style. Probably some of the most famous locks out there, Penn could take a cue from Justin Bieber’s hair, growing it longer, straightening it, and letting it fall in his face. Penn could look at Hollywood It Guy Brad Pitt and cut his hair short, adding subtle highlights. His Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford could be an inspiration, too. But beware, Penn: this “I didn’t do anything to it” look actually takes time. Not everyone can pull of the Donald’s look, but if Penn really wanted to do it, he’d have to dye his hair blonde and let it grow into a mini ‘fro. Penn could use the Twilight star’s locks as inspiration. He’ll just need to grow a widow’s peak. All Penn would have to do to get a look similar to Taylor Lautner’s is straighten it, cut it a little shorter and style it a little higher than normal for a dapper look. If Penn really wanted respect, he could salt-and-pepper his hair a’ la George Clooney and go for this more mature look.

If it’s a day ending in y, you can bet that actress Zoe Kravitz stepped out looking like she just wandered out of the thrift store reject bin. Photographer Aaron Stern’s book release party was no exception–Z looked bleary-eyed and disheveled as she posed with the snapper alongside her delicious BF Penn Badgley, who thankfully saved this picture from searing my eyeballs thanks to his out-of-control hotness.
Am I the only one who is terrified that Z’s “bohemian” style may rub off on the immaculate Penn? Or do you adore her devil-may-care dressing?

Spotted: Penn Badgley getting up close and personal with demonstrators at the “Occupy Wall Street” protest in NYC, despite the threat of pepper spray and arrest. P was already super hot, but knowing that he’s man enough to stand up for what he believes in makes him pure perfection, no? Maybe I’ll march down there myself…a night in jail wouldn’t be so bad if P could be my cellmate…XOXO.

What does Penn Badgley have in common with a tennis ball? A lot actually.
The actor’s moniker came after his father bounced a Penn tennis ball while feeling frustrated about choosing a baby name. After seeing his son’s ultrasound, Papa Badgley commented how much his son looked like a tennis ball–and boom–the rest is history. Thankfully, we no longer see the resemblance.
Although he didn’t grow up to become the male equivalent of Serena Williams, Penn did finish high school at just 14 and dabbles in music, like many of his Gossip Girl costars. The Baltimore-born actor packed his bags for Hollywood at 11, and landed a gig on The Young and the Restless. Behind the long locks, you may also recognize him as Scott Tucker in John Tucker Must Die.
Keeping the ball rolling, Penn continued to appear on the big screen in The Stepfather and the soccer fanatic even joined forces with Brad Pitt to champion bringing the FIFA World Cup to the United States in 2018 or 2022.
Oh, and–shh!–his guilty pleasure isn’t writing novels in Brooklyn; it’s watching Friends reruns.
