The Best Blair/Serena Catfights since Gossip Girl Began!

It’s no secret. Blair Waldorf is mad at Serena van der Woodsen for copying her diary entries for Gossip Girl to leak to everyone. But drama between the girls isn’t that unusual, especially when it comes to upstaging the other. Since Season 1, Queen B and S have proven that they’re ready to fight for their place at the top of the Upper East Side social pyramid. From hair pulling to pushing each other into a fountain to words that cut like knives, Serena and Blair don’t hold back when it comes to a fight.

Check out the gallery below to see the best fight from each season. Which fight do you think was the biggest?

Season 1 – Poison Ivy

Queen B was used to the spotlight back in Season 1 while S was MIA. But, with the return of Serena came the return of drama. In this infamous lacrosse brawl from Season 1, B and S get into it over Nate.

Season 2 – The Serena Also Rises

When Eleanor Waldorf favors Serena over Blair, tensions run high, climaxing during Eleanor’s fashion show. Although this fight doesn’t come to actual physical violence, Serena cuts Blair down to size, telling her that she is no longer going to hold herself back for fear of outshining her “BFF”

Season 3 – New Haven Can Wait

Once again, Blair feels overshadowed by her would-be bestie Serena. At a Yale event, a jealous Blair brings up a dark secret from Serena’s past (remember that dead guy Pete?) and the two girls get into a major catfight.

Season 4 – Belles de Jour

So it sorta seemed like the besties were getting along (finally) and were together adventuring through Paris with tres petite drama. However, the calm always comes before the storm, and after a heated argument, Serena finds herself in the fountain. Oh yeah, and Blair’s the one that pushed her in.

Season 5 – Cross Rhodes

Most recently, it seems, drama for S and B has been over Dan. Who would have though that Lonely Boy would be so desirable to the Upper East Side queens?

Producer’s Preview: “Raiders Of The Lost Art”

Can’t wait for what’s going to happen in Season 5, Episode 22 of Gossip Girl“Raiders Of The Lost Art”? Well, here’s a sneak peek of all the drama that’s about to go down.

Chuck (Ed Westwick), Nate (Chace Crawford), Blair (Leighton Meester), Serena (Blake Lively) and Lola (guest star Ella Rae Peck) team up to uncover what they think is an explosive secret between Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) and Jack (guest star Desmond Harrington). Meanwhile, Dan (Penn Badgley) is offered a prestigious fellowship in Rome for the summer. Matthew Settle also stars. Bart Wenrich directed the episode written by Jake Coburn (#522).

Co-producer Jake Coburn, who also wrote the episode, commented that Nate finding the encoded book in Diana’s hotel suite will lead to an entertaining investigation, and that our favorite Upper East Side residents are teaming up Goonies style. “Over the course of this episode, the gang kinda gets back together to solve the riddle of what’s in this book. And that really takes them on sort of this incredible adventure.”

Jake also gets really cryptic when discussing a watershed scene. “I think it’s safe to say that if you’re a big fan of the show, you’re going to absolutely need to watch the end of this episode, because it’s going to forever change the landscape of the show. And you want to see it for yourself, you don’t want to hear about it online.”

Executive producer Josh Safran commented that Blair and Dan’s relationship might experience some tension due to Dan’s slight jealous nature. “And so, like, everybody is actually together with one exception…and that one exception is not too happy about it.”

Josh shares an enticing clue about the scene that will change the scheme of things on the Upper East Side: “Spoiler alert! This is probably the biggest surprise of the year.

Check out the producers’ preview for Gossip Girl Season 5, Episode 22 below. What do you think is going to happen in this episode? Leave a comment to share your thoughts.

Cecily von Ziegesar Recaps “Salon of the Dead”

Who better to recap each week’s new episode of Gossip Girl than author Cecily von Ziegesar? Find out all her favorite moments in “Salon of the Dead” (Season 5, Episode 20).

Hey People,

As Blair said last night, “It’s so good to be back in the saddle again.”

I know B was talking about rebounding into the Upper East Side social scene as a beautiful, smart, young newly divorced ex-princess, but as the episode progressed, I couldn’t help but enjoy the renewed fiery tension between her and Chuck, despite Dan’s constant devoted puppy presence. Blair and Dan are a great match of minds, but one has to wonder about the heavy duty pajamas they wear to bed and never seem to take off….

Favorite outfit: That beautiful navy blue dress Lola borrowed from Serena to wear to her non-existent Lars van Trier audition. We only got to see it for a split second but I love, love, loved it.

Favorite line: That thing Lily said about loving the Upper East Side because it has “People who are there just to open doors for you.”

Favorite villain: Serena! I love it when she’s bad. And she’s so good at being bad. Of course she’s so shamelessly enjoying being Gossip Girl. Vengeance is sweet.

Favorite mom: Diana. Once Chuck has gotten over the initial shock, even he will be proud to have such an über-hot mom, even if she does occasionally “bang” his best friend.

Favorite boy: Nate, as always, for being so ambitious, handsome, and loyal. For flirting with every girl he encounters, even his best friend’s mom. And for looking so very nice in a suit.

Looking forward to seeing what B and D are going to do about their pajama problem…!

You know you love it.

xoxo

Ed Westwick Video Interview: “Leighton is a Sweetheart”

Ed Westwick on location for

Need a little Ed Westwick in your life during the Gossip Girl hiatus? We’ve got just the cure! The CW has just released a new video interview with him answering questions from fans.

On The Drama Between Chuck and Blair - “The relationship between Chuck and Blair, I think everyone agrees they’re soulmates, but can they get it together? I don’t know. They’re really pushing the boundaries now—they’ve got to figure it out.”

On Leighton Meester - “My favorite part about working with Leighton is that she’s a really funny character. She has a great time and is an absolute sweetheart.”

On Chuck’s Wardrobe - “Wearing Chuck’s wardrobe is great. It’s one of my favorite things. He gets to wear these exquisite clothes, finely tailored. And whoever you are — whether you’re playing a character on TV or someone who’s fortunate enough to own these clothes in a personal collection — you feel pretty good doing it.”

On What He’d Be If He Weren’t An Actor - “I probably would have been a plastic surgeon,” he said jokingly. “I don’t know — probably a failed musician… a failed international superstar.”

On His Current Projects - “I was just in a film called J. Edgar and I’m also doing a feature version of Romeo and Juliet, which I’m very excited about. I’m playing Tybalt. Hailee Steinfeld is playing Juliet and Damian Lewis is playing Romeo. And it’s going to be a great adaptation for this generation, so I hope everyone goes and sees it when it’s out.”

Battle: Who’s the Most Evil Character?

As Kaylee Defer who plays Ivy Dickens on the show recently said in an interview, “No matter how evil [the characters on Gossip Girl] are, or appear, I think they always have these redeeming qualities about them.” But, let’s get back to the evil part, since that’s more fun.

In a recent Facebook poll, Louis was voted as the most evil character on the show right now. So, we thought it’d be fun to pit the rest of them against each other. Welcome to our evil battle! Vote in each individual battle below and we will pit the winners of each one against each other next week to determine the grand winner!

Dan vs. Chuck

So, nobody would have ever expected Dan to become a bad boy, but it seems like the battle for Blair’s heart always brings out the worst in people. Sure, Chuck has always been the manipulative and devious one, but Lonely Boy is slowly catching up with his more recent schemes to sabotage Chuck and Blair’s relationship and steal Blair for himself.

Which of Blair’s lovers do you think deserves the title of Upper East Side Bad Boy?

Charlie Rhodes (Lola) vs. Charlie Rhodes (Ivy)

Lola Rhodes side by side Ivy Dickens Gossip Girl

Now, before you get all confused, the two Charlie Rhodes of the Upper East Side each have a bit of a mean streak. Sure, Ivy’s the one who may or may not have swindled a dying old lady into giving her millions by posing as her only supportive grandchild. But Lola totally decided to disown her new-found family and is definitely hating on the whole elitism thing of the Upper East Side (well, minus Nate of course).

Which Charlie Rhodes is more deserving of the Rhodes title?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Georgina vs. Serena

Georgina Sparks vs Serena van der Woodsen

While neither of these Upper East Siders are the actual Gossip Girl, they’ve each done their fair share to try and become her. With Georgina (see Georgina’s most evil moments) taking the reins for herself in the real GG’s absence and Serena attempting to overthrow GG with her self-indulgent blog, both of these It Girls is on a quest to make sure the Upper East Side revolves around her.

Which of these is a bigger threat as the new GG?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Blair vs. Estee

Blair Waldorf and Estee Gossip Girl

There is definitely some tension between the new Princess B and her royal handler, Estee. Sure, Blair may not love Louis anymore, but that doesn’t mean she should step aside to let some commoner take her place. Blair is dating another guy while being married to Louis, but Estee’s little “I’ll pretend to help you get a divorce, but then I’ll trick you into having to pay the dowry” was pretty mean.

Which of Louis’ ladies is the bigger disgrace to the throne?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Lily vs. Carol

Lily Humphrey vs. Carol Rhodes Gossip Girl

Sibling rivalry is the oldest of all battles, going all the way back to Cain and Abel. Although neither Lily or Carol would be caught dead farming grain, we wouldn’t put it past either to find a way to get rid of the other. With their constant bickering, even in the aftermath of their poor mother’s death, Lily and Carol prove that even when siblings are exactly alike they will constantly judge each other. Would you give either of them mother of the year?

Which sister do you think is the most undeserving of the Rhodes fortune?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

After you vote, head to the message boards to talk about the characters with other fans of the show!
