The Best Words of Wisdom Quotes from Gossip Girl – Season 3

Gossip Girl Lips Logo

Here are some of the best words of wisdom Gossip Girl dished out in Season 3:

  • “Forget a grand entrance. Everyone knows that it’s the exit they’ll remember.”
  • “Life isn’t a fairy tale, and happy endings are few and far between.”
  • “On the Upper East Side, the rules of battle are simple: there are no rules.”
  • “Sometimes, despite the risk, the most important thing is to seize the moment. Or whatever else you can grab.”
  • “We make our own fortunes, and call them fate. And what better excuse to choose a path than to insist it’s our destiny? But at the end of the day, we all have to live with our choices … no matter who’s looking over our shoulder.”
  • “They say there are no accidents. Sometimes reality comes crashing into us. Other times it dawns on us slowly, despite our best efforts to ignore it.”
  • “As a famed literary critic once told Oprah, memory is subjective. It can be embellished or denied. But as James Fray knows all too well, the truth always comes out.Sometimes it’s hard to see the lines we’ve drawn until we’ve crossed them. That’s when we rely on the ones we love to pull us back and give us something to hold onto. Then there are the clearly marked lines. The ones that if you dare cross, you may never find your way back.”
  • “In Manhattan, some parties are VIP only. Others are strictly private. But some parties are political, and those lines are drawn by the most established of the establishment. And once those lines are drawn, they can never be crossed.”

Fashion Faceoff: Blake vs. Leighton

It seems like just yesterday that I began bringing you the juiciest little whispers from the Upper East Side’s favorite clique. But lo and behold, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester stepped out last night to celebrate the 100th episode of Gossip Girl, each looking white hot.

But as we know, there can be only one ruler of Manhattan, so take a look at B and L and tell me who gets your vote for GG’s loveliest: B in a strange see-through Marchesa dress or L, who played it safe in a Balmain mini and strappy Jimmy Choos.

In Gossip Girl episode 5.06, Nate Archibald gave his boss and cougar lover Diana Meade an ultimatum…go public with our relationship or it’s over. Well, now the two are not only co-workers who steam up the windows in their office but they are sexing it up at home as well. Apparently though, mixing business and pleasure isn’t the recipe for a happy relationship.

Sneak a peek at a tense Niana/Date scene from Gossip Girl episode 5.07 below:

Is it just us or does Diana look a little exasperated with her Upper East Side boy toy? Nate Archibald is a total hottie but he seems to be the overbearing one in this relationship. Hopefully he’ll take up Diana’s offer to kick back and have some fun while she’s away on her business trip!

Do you think Diana and Nate will last? Who do you think Nate is meant to be with? Leave your predictions below or in the Gossip Girl viewers lounge!

Gossip Girl Recap for "The Fasting and the Furious": The Good, The Bad, and The Not-So-Kosher

Blair and Louis are all smiles while announcing her pregnancy on Gossip Girl episode 5.05.

Yom Kippur arrived late on the Upper East Side but it did so in style. From Serena trying to seduce Dan into giving her the movie rights to his book to Diana being a pain in Charlie’s (Ivy’s) tuches, Cyrus’s shofar-blowing holiday went from somber to colorful. Behold, the Top 5 OMG Miracle Moments from Gossip Girl episode 5.05, “The Fasting and The Furious.”

The Good: Blair and Louis finally took a step forward in their relationship by announcing B’s pregnancy to their parents. (B probably realized better now before things got really bumpy…)
The Bad: Blair’s future monster-in-law –ahem– mother-in-law embraced the notion of a baby Blouis…but then, because of Beatrice’s interference, went all Mommy Dearest on the happy parents-to-be and demanded that Blair sign a contract. Thankfully, Eleanor kept it real: “You’re still in college!”

The Good: Chuck and Monkey continued their bro bonding, and the two pals even visited a doggie park. C’est tres adorable!
The Bad: While Monkey-ing around, Chuck bumped into an attractive psychologist and tried to seduce her. But when she failed to nip at his blue-suited bait, Chuck realized he was being a Basshole. Chuck decided he no longer wanted to be a billionaire buffoon but a serious, respectable man. (Pretty soon he’ll have us all calling him Charles.)

The Good: Nate is advancing in the workplace and trying to build a name for himself by destroying the names of others. He’s no longer just another pretty-faced boy toy. (Oh. Wait a sec…)
The Bad:  Diana Payne disrupted Upper East Side hierarchy by meddling in Gossip Girl’s affairs and launching a new gossip site called NY Spectator. And she later ignited an actual fire by literally burning her scandalous past to a crisp. Archibald’s cougar better retract her claws because hell hath no fury like a blogger scorned.

The Good: Serena stopped sabotaging herself long enough to confess to Dan that he’s the love of her life. Apparently, honesty is the best policy because her straightforward words made Lonely Boy get all tingly, and he granted her boss the movie rights to Inside.
The Bad: S lived up to her ‘Sabrina” alter ego by leaking false info about Dan’s movie book rights, and making a fool of herself in front of her former flame and her go-getter boss.

*The Not-So-Kosher*: Despite all her scandals being prime fodder for Gossip Girl, Princess-to-be Blair still hasn’t invested in a proper safe. Hence, Prince Louis decided to go digging into the depths of his lady’s drawer and uncovered… her patched up paternity test results! Moreover, he’s somehow in cahoots with Chuck’s new psychologist. Is he going to find out about B’s former indiscretions? Is Baby Blouis actually a Baby Chair?  One thing is for sure though– Blair’s royal ascension plans are all schmeared up.

Will Louis discover some unsavory truths about the little bun baking in B’s oven? Why is Diana trying to imitate Gossip Girl? Are Dan and Serena going to rekindle their on-again/off-again romance? Leave your season five predictions in the comments and/or comment in the Gossip Girl viewers lounge!

Tune into Leighton Meester’s Acting (and Singing!) Career

Watch out, Beyonce. Blair Waldorf could tread into your territory.

Besides acting, another love in Leighton Meester’s life is singing. This Texas-born, Florida-raised girl inked a deal with Universal Republic in 2009, and released her first single “Somebody to Love” that October. Leighton also collaborated with Cobra Starship on their hit “Good Girls Go Bad,” which peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

On the acting front, Leighton moved to Los Angeles at 14 to pursue her ambitions. Since landing the role of Upper East Side’s most fashionable dictator, she’s lit up the big screen in films including, Country Song with Gwyneth Paltrow, The Roommate, and Monte Carlo.

In addition to those on-screen and musical talents, Leighton was also named by People as one of their 100 Most Beautiful in 2008, and #17 on Maxim’s  Hot 100 of 2010 list. Famous designers including Vera Bradley and Missoni took notice and tapped Leighton, who ironically doesn’t enjoy wearing makeup outside of work, to rep their brands.

Is Blair Waldorf Capable of Murder? Um, Yeah!

Why so serious, B? (Photo: Book: Little, Brown; Blair: J.B Nicholas / Splash News)

In Gossip Girl, Psycho Killer, the Upper East Side turns into a bloodbath. Literally. So, what makes the book’s author Cecily von Ziegesar think her original Gossip Girl characters have psycho killer potential? Read on for Cecily’s take on what makes Blair (as always) a person of interest.

The bitches are back, and now they’ve got knives…! I know what you’re thinking—Gossip Girl Psycho Killer? Is this real? Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s real, I wrote it, it’s very funny, and I love it. Hope you will too.

Could B be a psycho killer? Actually, it’s not that hard to believe…

a)      She has closets full of pretty coats with deep pockets, good for concealing weapons and bloodstains.

b)      She’s small and can therefore hide in closets, behind skinny trees, and on the floor of taxis.

c)      She seems to know where everyone is at all times before they even get there.

d)      She has a terrible temper.

e)      Her maid is loyal and very thorough, thus dead bodies are not an issue.

f)       She’ll do anything to get into Yale.

Inside the heart of every super-competitive private school girl is a cold-blooded killer. If people began to disappear from the Upper East Side, I’d have no trouble pinning it on B. Would you?

XOXO,

Cecily von Ziegesar, author of Gossip Girl

Season 5 Prediction: Team Chargina Creates a Scandalous Stir

Ivy plus Georgina equals trouble for the Upper East Side. (Photo: Giovanni Rufino / The CW)

Charlie in charge? Armed with a taste of the Manhattan socialite lifestyle, blank checks courtesy of Grandma Rhodes, and Georgina’s phone number on a crumbled napkin, this Serena-in-training-wheels is bound to cause a Gossip Girl blast or two.

There’s just one teeny catch: Cousin Charlie is really a poser named Ivy hired by Lily’s sis Carol. Hmm, lying, fraud, deceit…sounds like Ivy’s part of the family, after all.

And now that Georgina’s found herself a new baby daddy who makes bank, you can bet she’ll ditch playtime with Milo to make Ivy her shiny new toy. To think Serena thought a stolen dress was the best her little cousin could do.

Do you think Charlie will team up with the mighty Georgina? Or will she make another (successful?) pass at one of Serena’s past flames? Watch these sparks fly when Gossip Girl returns Sept 26 on The CW at 8/7c

Jessica Szohr Really Bites

Jessica Szohr may have ditched the Upper East Side, but I hear that our little Jess will turn up alongside Skins star Luke Pasqualino and Eragon hottie Ed Speelers in the comedy-horror flick, Love Bites, about a teenage werewolf preying on virgins. Will you be first in line to see Jessica’s new flick or does it sound less than LOL, darlings?
